Yoga and Movement Classes

Several independent practitioners offer yoga and movement classes at the Uma Center. You can read descriptions of regularly held classes below. Be sure to check the Events Calendar for current days and times.

Postnatal Yoga - "Core & Restore"
Taught by Kristine Petterson

In Summer: Wednesdays, 5:15 - 6:30pm 
This class is open to any one, and focused on supporting new moms. After a breath-focused flowing warm up, students will learn tools to restrengthen pelvic floor and find core stability in dynamic poses. Class concludes with a restorative practice to create space, calm the nervous system, balance hormones and countless other benefits. 

Prenatal Yoga 
Taught by Marijka Haverhals

Wednesdays, 5:15 - 6:30pm
Prepare for birth and motherhood while connecting with an inspiring community of moms-to-be in this 75 minute Prenatal Yoga Class. With a focus on strength, flexibility and balance practices especially helpful for pregnancy, with breath and visualization/meditation techniques to empower you during challenges including labor and birth. Women during all stages of pregnancy are welcome!
Cost: $7/class or $5/class with 10-class punch card

Prenatal Yoga Partner Workshop

This special two-hour workshop invites you and your partner to come to your mat together for a mindful practice to support your path to parenthood.

For $30 per couple you will enjoy:
- Breathing and relaxation exercises
- Poses for a strong and supported pregnancy
- Partner activities to support pregnancy and labor
- Labor support/birthing positions
- deepening your connection, to each other and baby
- Tea and snacks provided.
