About our Scholarships

The Uma Center believes that all women should have access to resources that will help them have a positive, empowering and healthy perinatal experience. The Uma Center Scholarship Fund was established to improve access to childbirth education classes and birth doulas among families with financial need in Moscow, Pullman and surrounding communities (including the Lewiston-Clarkston valley).

How it Works

  • Expectant parents may apply for a scholarship intended for childbirth education classes or birth doula services.
  • Depending on availability of funds we hope to provide one or more scholarships each month to qualified applicants.
  • Scholarship recipients will receive a voucher to be redeemed with the specified service provider.

Scholarship Disclaimer

  • The Uma Center makes no representations or warranties whatsoever regarding the availability of funds for this scholarship program and reserves the right to cancel this program at any time without notice.
  • Fulfillment of Scholarship Criteria and submission of this application does not guaranty that an applicant will be awarded any funds.
  • Only one scholarship will be granted per pregnancy or per calendar year to a single recipient.
  • Scholarship decisions are made at the sole and absolute discretion of the Uma Center.
  • The Uma Center shall not be liable for any damages to any party under this scholarship program. The applicant hereby indemnifies and holds The Uma Center harmless for any damage or liability that may arise in relation to this scholarship program or any service paid for with scholarship funds.
  • The Uma Center does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, age, disability, marital status, sexual orientation or insurance status.
